Uniting to revitalize our old ways. Become a Member.
The Anishinaabek Land Trust is guided by Anishinaabe governance and the responsibilities carried by each Clan. We are seeking Anishinaabe individuals to represent their Clans as members of the Land Trust. Through this structure, members help guide the direction of the organization by bringing forward teachings, knowledge, and responsibilities rooted in traditional ways of leadership. This work is about practicing and carrying forward these ways in a meaningful and grounded way, for current and future generations.
What do members do?
Members of the Land Trust:
- Take part in the growth and direction of the organization
- Represent their Anishinaabe Clan within the Land Trust
- Share knowledge and teachings connected to their Clan
- Support decision-making and the overall direction of the Land Trust
- Practice and uphold the Seven Grandfather Teachings
Clans and Committees
Each Clan is connected to a committee within the Land Trust. As a member representing your Clan, you will also take part in guiding the work of a corresponding committee, helping ensure that decisions reflect Anishinaabe governance and responsibilities. You can learn more about how we operate on the How We Operate page in our About section.
